About Gradometer

Gradometer started from a small, irritating problem: almost every GPA calculator online assumes your university grades the way the calculator's author's university grades. For a student at NUST, COMSATS, IIT Delhi or TU Munich, that assumption produces a number that is confidently wrong.

What we actually do

We maintain a structured database of university grading systems, the letter grades, the grade points, the percentage bands where they exist, the conversion formulas, and the rules about what counts and what does not. A single calculation engine reads that data. There is no separate "NUST calculator" and "COMSATS calculator"; there is one engine and many verified data records.

Three commitments

We cite our sources. Every grading scale links to where it came from and shows when we last checked it. If a scale comes from a secondary source rather than the university's own document, we say so and mark our confidence as lower.

We publish our gaps. Where we do not have verified data, university pages carry a "known gaps" box instead of plausible-looking filler. An honest blank is more useful than a confident guess.

We do not invent pages. If a university publishes no separate grading policy, we do not generate a page about it padded with generic text. Every page has to earn its existence by answering a real question a student is actually asking.

Where relative grading breaks calculators

Universities like NUST and LUMS grade relatively: your letter depends on the class distribution, not on a fixed marks table. Sites that publish "85% = A at NUST" are inventing a table that does not exist. We show the real grade points, state plainly that no percentage bands are published, and explain what that means for predicting your grade.

Privacy

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server. There is no server to send it to. Your entries are saved to your own browser's local storage so they survive a page refresh, and clearing your browser data deletes them permanently.

What we are not

We are independent and not affiliated with any university, ministry or scholarship provider. We are not an official source and we never claim to be. For anything consequential. Graduation eligibility, a scholarship threshold, a credential evaluation, and your university's registrar is the authority, and we will always tell you to check with them.
