United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP)
A deadline shown here is a research aid. The provider's current call controls the real deadline.
Fulbright is the largest single funded route from Pakistan to US graduate study, and USEFP handles placement, which removes the hardest part of a US application. The trade-off is the home residency requirement, which is a genuine two-year commitment and not a formality.
| Academic | A four-year bachelor's degree, or 16 years of education, from an HEC-recognised institution. |
| Language | TOEFL or IELTS at the level required by the receiving university. |
| Other | Pakistani nationality and residence in Pakistan at the time of applying. GRE is required. Recipients are bound by the two-year home residency rule attached to the J-1 visa. |
Apply directly to USEFP in Islamabad rather than to a US university. USEFP screens, interviews and then places successful candidates, so you do not choose your university in the way you would with a normal application.
We keep past cycles rather than deleting them. Historical dates are the best predictor of when the next call opens.
| Year | Status | Opens | Deadline | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2027/2028 | Expected | — | — | USEFP has run an annual cycle with a deadline in the first half of the year, followed by testing and interviews. The current call and its exact deadline are published on usefp.org, which is the only source worth planning against. |
This call has not opened yet. These awards are recorded as open, so they are the ones worth your time today.
Always apply through the official site. Gradometer is not affiliated with this provider and never charges for scholarship information.
