LUMS is a private research university in Lahore, best known for its business, law, economics and computing programmes. Its grading scale is subtly different from the HEC norm: increments are 0.70 and 0.30 rather than 0.67 and 0.33, so a calculator built for COMSATS will give slightly wrong answers for a LUMS transcript.
The table runs to 12 grades. Below D, worth 1 point, nothing scores.
The percentage on this page comes from arithmetic. It is not policy. CGPA × 25 (estimate only) stretches the 4-point scale to 100. It approximates, nothing more. No LUMS-issued conversion formula was found.
The thresholds worth memorising: Grade point increments runs to 0.70 / 0.30 (not the HEC-standard 0.67 / 0.33). Dean's Honour List requires CGPA 3.70 – 4.00. Good standing is CGPA 3.00 and above.
Two things remain unverified here. The cited 2025–26 LUMS Graduate Student Handbook is a graduate-level source; undergraduate and programme-specific grading rules may differ. There is another gap under the table. Both remain until we can read the regulation.
Each intake can bring different rules. If your transcript disagrees with the 12-grade table above, your transcript wins, and we would rather re-read the source than argue with it.

| Academic probation | CGPA below 2.00 |
| CGPA → percentage status | Estimate / normalization only |

This record is verified against the LUMS Graduate Student Handbook 2025–26. It should not be read as a universal undergraduate LUMS rule; programme, school and cohort-specific regulations can differ. The percentage result is a mathematical normalization only unless a receiving authority specifies an accepted equivalence.
| Grade | Points | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| A+ | 4.00 | — |
| A | 4.00 | — |
| A- | 3.70 | — |
| B+ | 3.30 | — |
| B | 3.00 | — |
| B- | 2.70 | — |
| C+ | 2.30 | — |
| C | 2.00 | — |
| C- | 1.70 | — |
| D+ | 1.30 | — |
| D | 1.00 | — |
| F | 0.00 | Fail |
Because most calculators assume A- = 3.67 and B+ = 3.33. LUMS uses 3.70 and 3.30. The gap is small per course but compounds across a full degree, and it matters at scholarship and honour-list boundaries.
3.70 or above.
