The top grade at QUEST is A+, awarded at 90% and above. You know the cut-off before you sit anything, and it holds. Nawabshah has hosted it since 1974.
There are 8 grade tiers. Points stop at C-, worth 1 point. You need 50 to 54% to get there. Note what is missing. There is no D tier on this scale. One step separates the lowest pass from a fail. Losing the D tier matters more than it sounds. The fall from the lowest pass to a fail is one step, with no cushion. Neither half of the fraction moves when a W appears.
This percentage is derived, and derivation is not the same as policy. A CGPA times 25 (4.0-scale normalization; not universal) gives a percentage-shaped number. That number is an estimate. No QUEST-issued conversion formula was found.
The thresholds worth memorising: Cohort runs to 2022+ table used by default. Pass threshold is 50%. Historical note runs to Pre-2022 table differs.
Check the figure against your own grade report before it matters. This reflects the published rule, which is not always what a faculty office does.
| Cohort | 2022+ table used by default |
| Top grade | A+ = 4.00 at 90%+ |
| Pass threshold | 50% |
| Historical note | Pre-2022 table differs |
QUEST explicitly publishes two grade-equivalence tables: one for students up to the 2021 batch and a revised table effective from the 2022 batch. Gradometer uses the 2022+ table as the default for new students and notes the cohort break. This is a good example of why university calculators should retain effective dates instead of assuming one scale applies forever.
| Grade | Points | Marks | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| A+ | 4.00 | 90–100% | From 2022 batch |
| A | 3.50 | 81–89% | From 2022 batch |
| B+ | 3.00 | 73–80% | From 2022 batch |
| B | 2.50 | 65–72% | From 2022 batch |
| C+ | 2.00 | 60–64% | From 2022 batch |
| C | 1.50 | 55–59% | From 2022 batch |
| C- | 1.00 | 50–54% | From 2022 batch |
| F | 0.00 | 0–49% | Fail |
| Code | How it is treated |
|---|---|
| W | Withdrawn — excluded from GPA |
| I | Incomplete — handled under university rules |
QUEST runs the official 2022+ table: A+=4.0 at 90+, A=3.5 at 81–89, B+=3.0 at 73–80, B=2.5 at 65–72, C+=2.0 at 60–64, C=1.5 at 55–59, C−=1.0 at 50–54 and F below 50. Check the current university rules for your programme and cohort.
You can compute something. Whether QUEST or anyone else will accept it is a different question, and the answer is usually no without an official equivalence. Keep in mind that regulations are revised between intakes, so a rule that applied to the cohort above you may not apply to yours. The version in force when you enrolled is normally the one that governs.
Multiply each course grade point by its credit hours, add the quality points, then divide by the credits attempted. QUEST weights by credit, so a 4-credit course moves your GPA more than a 1-credit lab.
