The top grade at UoP is A, awarded at 85% and above. The cut-off is published before the year starts and does not shift, which is what absolute grading means. It has been running in Peshawar since 1950.
4 grades sit on the scale. The lowest grade that still earns points is C at 2 points, which you reach at 50 to 64%. Note what is missing. Without a D tier, the fall from lowest pass to fail is one step.
The percentage on this page comes from arithmetic. It is not policy. Multiplying CGPA by 25 (4.0-scale normalization; not universal) rescales a 4-point figure. Treat the result as an estimate. No UoP-issued conversion formula was found.
After the table, the following rules do the real work. The degree CGPA is set at 2.50 minimum in cited semester rules. Grading scale runs to 4.00 maximum. Improvement runs to Selected B/C courses may be improved.
An honest gap. The honest position is that this record is incomplete, and pretending otherwise would make the page less useful. The regulation is a University of Peshawar semester-system document reproduced/published through the Pakistan Study Centre; it is not hosted on the main university domain, and no source we trust closes it yet.
The source is the document at the top of this page. No third-party table was used. Departments still vary. Check the handbook you were issued before betting a deadline on this.

The University of Peshawar regulation published through its Pakistan Study Centre gives the semester grading framework, a 4.0 maximum, a 2.5 minimum CGPA for degree award, and an improvement rule in which the old grade remains on the transcript but is not counted in the revised CGPA. The source also provides point values for individual marks from 50 through 85–100.
| Grade | Points | Marks | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 4.00 | 85–100% | — |
| B | 3.00 | 65–84% | — |
| C | 2.00 | 50–64% | — |
| F | 0.00 | 0–49% | Fail |
The scale is in the table above, taken directly from the UoP source we cite. If your department publishes something different, that version governs your transcript.
Only when UoP or the receiving authority publishes an accepted conversion for the purpose at hand. Otherwise you are converting a verifiable figure into an unverifiable one.
Credit-weighted, as at most institutions. Each grade point is multiplied by the course's credit hours, the results are summed, and the total is divided by credits attempted. A naive average of grade points gives the wrong answer at UoP whenever course credits differ.
