Calculate your cumulative CGPA on Technical University of Munich's own 5-point scale, weighted by credit hours. Your entries stay in your browser.
Your CGPA is a credit-hour weighted average, not a simple average of your semester GPAs.
Each course contributes grade points × credit hours (its quality points) and your CGPA is
the total quality points divided by the total credit hours attempted.
This is why a 4-credit course moves your CGPA roughly four times as much as a 1-credit lab, and why averaging your semester GPAs directly gives the wrong answer whenever your credit load varies between semesters.
IMPORTANT: in Germany a LOWER number is better. 1.0 is the best possible grade and 4.0 is the minimum pass; 5.0 is a fail. Averages are weighted by ECTS credits. Any calculator that treats 4.0 as 'excellent' for a German transcript is wrong.
